NJ Event Educates Community On Elder Abuse

In honor of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General hosted a statewide symposium on Thursday to educate and raise awareness on elder abuse and exploitation, Matthew Fazelpoor reports for NJBIZ.

The free public event, hosted in part by the O.A.G. and the New Jersey Elder Protection Task Force at The College of New Jersey’s Brower Student Center, aimed to discuss prevention and identification of crimes targeting the elderly. Presenters outlined recent ways elders have been targeted including crypto and A.I scams and provided resources on how to combat them.
