Louisiana Officer Arrested For Negligent Homicide

A Louisiana police officer has been arrested for killing a Black man during a domestic abuse call, the Louisiana State Police announced on Thursday. Shreveport Police Officer Alexander Tyler was arrested by state police on charges of negligent homicide in the death of Alonzo Bagley, James Finn reports for the Advocate. Bagley was killed on Feb. 3 after allegedly fleeing running from Tyler and another officer, who were responding to a domestic abuse call. Edited body-worn camera footage released Thursday shows Tyler discharged his weapon immediately on seeing Bagley after rounding a corner during a foot pursuit. Bagley was shot in the chest and died in the hospital.
